Great chocolate starts long before our kitchen. We choose sustainably grown cacao and stand behind the farmers who grow it, because the beans that make our chocolate today are only here if those farms thrive tomorrow.

Whenever we can, we gather from California's seasonal harvest, selecting the finest fruits, nuts, berries, and other produce from local farmers markets. Everything is still made the old-fashioned way, by hand in small batches at our Los Angeles atelier, powered by solar-offset energy. It's chocolate made the way it used to be. We think you can taste the difference.

We ship Monday through Friday. In warm weather we ship Monday to Wednesday to avoid weekend transit, and we track conditions to pack every order with ice when it's needed, backed by our No Melt Guarantee. Free shipping on orders over $99. See our shipping page for full details.

Questions & Answers

Is chocolate-covered matzo kosher for Passover?

Chocolate-covered matzo can be kosher for Passover if it is made with ingredients that adhere to the dietary laws of Passover. This means that the chocolate must be free from leavening agents such as yeast or baking powder, and any other non-kosher for Passover ingredients. It is important to look for a kosher certification on the packaging to ensure that the product meets these requirements.

What is matzo made out of?

Matzo is a type of unleavened bread that is traditionally made from only wheat flour and water. It is a staple food during the Jewish holiday of Passover, where leavened bread is not allowed. The dough is rolled out very thin and then baked quickly at high temperatures to prevent any rising or fermentation. This results in a flat, cracker-like bread that has a crisp texture.

What is the Bracha on chocolate-covered matzo?

The blessing (Bracha) recited before eating chocolate-covered matzo is the same as the blessing recited before eating regular matzo: "Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Haolam, Hamotzi Lechem Min Haaretz." This blessing acknowledges God as the source of all sustenance and thanks Him for providing bread from the earth.

How do you eat matzo?

Matzo can be eaten in a variety of ways, depending on personal preferences and traditions. Here are some common ways to enjoy matzo:

Plain: Matzo can be enjoyed on its own as a simple, crunchy snack. Break off a piece and savor the crispy texture and mild flavor.

Topped:Spread butter, cream cheese, jam

When should I give chocolate-covered matzo as a gift?

Chocolate-covered matzo makes a great gift for any occasion, but it is especially popular during the Jewish holiday of Passover. It can be a thoughtful and delicious addition to a holiday gift basket or as a sweet treat to share with friends and family. It is also a unique and tasty option for food lovers or anyone with a sweet tooth.
